Im currently in gauge size 4 and I have these sweet 2G plugs but I was wondering should I use a taper or a crescent(U shaped) gauge to stretch my ears to 2G before I put my plugs in to prevent stressing the piercing or any blowouts or infections?

Just wanted to say i did read first! This article was most helpful to say the least. I've already ordered a taper n tunnel set which should arrive tmrw!!! I'm not going real big, but guessing 6 g is about what I'm. After, maybe a size bigger then let them shrink back so a 6 fits comfy and easily.

Im just starting to gauge them, well i got them pierced on saturday and i noticed that my right earring is not in the center of my lobe. Could the complicate my gauging process in the quite near future? Do i need to have it redone before i gauge them? Please help!

I had Gotten my ears pierced to a 4 guage and was wondering if that would have any complications in the future. Does scar tissue carry over to bigger sizes going unnoticed while stretching up throughout smaller sizes?

How do I know when my ear is ready to go up a size? I've had my ear at 1,2mm for a month, but I've felt like going to 1,6 quite a while ago... When I got the 1,2mm, my ear felt a bit sore the next day and that's about it, after that it felt great. From another forum there were minimum healing time pointed out, like at least a month and when I go 4mm I should let it heal at least 3months.
Well, I had my other ear stretched to 8mm, but I messed up real bad, so I took it out. Obviously, I might feel ready after a week, but my ear is not.
So, what are the signs of perfectly healed ears? Because everyone's different and the healing time waries... I want to do everything right this time.

So, would it be foolish to stretch to a 2 gauge? I have fresh ears that have not been stretched and the piercer I plan on going to said that it's fine. Any advice would help!! Thank you.

Are your ears pierced? If they're talking about stretching a "normal" sized ear piercing to a 2G, no. Never skip even one size.
If they're talking about piercing at 2G, or piercing at 4G and immediately stretching to 2G, that's fine.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!
